Frequently asked questions.

Have a question? Find it here!

  • You can schedule your appointment online, over the phone or on the Massagebook app.

  • We are open 7 days a week. Mon-Fri from 9am-8pm and Sat-Sun from 10am-2pm.

  • We require that all guests have a valid card on file before receiving any service. There is no cancellation or rescheduling fee as long as changes are made no less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. Any appointment cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the service time will result in the full charge for your missed appointment.

  • Unfortunately at this time, couples massages or concurrent appointments are unavailable due to limited space. Please stay up to date though as this will change when we expand.

  • Pricing depends on session length. At Home Comfort Massage, you only pay for the service length and any optional add-ons you would like to receive during your session. All add-ons take place within the session and do not increase your session time, so please choose your time and add-ons wisely! For example, it is not recommended to get a 30 minute massage with a foot scrub and the peppermint scalp massage add-on. If you have a specific question, please ask. We want your service to be enjoyable and not feel rushed, but we will not stop you if you insist.

  • Yes to all of the above! Packages are always available as a set of 12 for a great discount and the service credits never expire! You are welcome to use them at your convenience. Memberships are available with no annual contract; just month to month, the way it should be! Discounts are offered periodically, so make sure you stay in the loop by making an account with us via Massagebook.

  • Providing a gratuity (tip) is customary, but not mandatory. A gratuity will never be automatically applied to your service cost. You are free to choose if and how much you would like to provide for your therapist. The industry average for gratuity is 20% of your total service cost.

  • We accept all major debit/credit cards as well as cash payments.

  • Home Comfort Massage offers a variety of modalities to suit your needs. Those modalities include swedish, deep tissue, trigger point, sports, and prenatal massage. There is no difference in cost; it simply provides your therapist with an understanding of the type of service you would like to receive.

  • Home Comfort Massage offers a range of service lengths starting at 30 minutes, moving up to 45, 60, 75, and a maximum of 90 minutes. Any add-ons chosen will take place within the selected time during your massage and will not increase the length of your service. It is recommended that you choose your service length based on your needs.

30 & 45 minute sessions are considered express sessions and work best when only focusing on a few areas. 60-90 minute sessions are recommended for full body work, while still being able to focus on specific areas without sacrificing much time everywhere else.

  • While it is possible to add more time to your service, it does depend on your therapist’s availability. If your therapist is able to, you would simply pay the difference to upgrade your session length to the next time length.

  • Absolutely! Aromatherapy will always be complimentary as well as 2 hot towels. 1 during your session and 1 at the end of your session to use if would like to remove excess lotion before getting dressed. In addition to aromatherapy and hot towels, Home Comfort Massage also offers paid add-ons, such as hot stones, cupping, hot towel treatment, foot scrub, peppermint scalp massage and our sensory retreat.

  • Yes, we offer specialized services for specific needs such as prenatal for massages during pregnancy or sports massage for individuals who want to maximize their mobility or just enjoy stretching during their massage.

  • Our studio is located at 15999 W. 12 Mile Rd #106, Southfield, MI 48076. Parking is available in the rear of the building. Overflow parking is also available just across Everett street to the west of the building.

  • All that is necessary is to bring yourself (and a valid payment method if you have not prepaid for your service). The clothing that you wear is completely your discretion. It is advised that you wear underwear if you intend to receive a sports massage. While you will be properly and professionally draped (covered) during your massage, it provides you and your therapist extra peace of mind that you will remain appropriately covered throughout the stretching process.

  • It is recommended that you arrive roughly 5-10 minutes prior to your massage in order to use the bathroom, go over any important details with your therapist, get ready for your massage and begin on time. Every session length includes the entire amount of time as “hands on” bodywork time as long as your appointment begins on time. If you arrive late, you are subject to receive only the remainder of your session. Any extra time received if you are late is at the sole discretion of your therapist.

  • You are welcome to disrobe to your discretion. The highest priority is that you feel completely comfortable. Some prefer to disrobe entirely, while others prefer to leave their bottom underwear on. It is however recommended that your bra is removed in order to more effectively work on your neck, shoulders and upper back without getting lotion on your bra. Draping will always take place in a massage session. The only exclusion is if the client decides to remain fully clothed. In which case the therapist will only be able to provide compression work over the clothing.

  • During your massage, your therapist can work on scalp, face, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, feet, back, and glutes. You may customize your service to focus on or skip any of the previously stated areas. During your session, you also have the option of available heat on your massage table for added comfort, complimentary aromatherapy, a hot towel, and relaxing music. Prior to and after your massage, you are welcome to enjoy complimentary water, mints and/or chocolates.

  • In accordance with state law, every massage therapist must be licensed and insured in order to provide massage therapy services. All providers have undergone extensive and thorough training by licensed schools and have received professional training. Not all schools teach the same exact way or the same techniques and modalities, so please understand that the style of treatment you receive will vary from one therapist to another.

  • It is important that you disclose any and all health conditions in order for your therapist to be informed and be able to provide you with safe, appropriate care. All health information disclosed is protected by HIPPA .

  • While Covid-19 is not as severe as it used to be, it is still important to maintain safety measures in order to protect yourself as well as your therapist. If you are feeling unwell, it is advised that you refrain from massage until you know that you are without risk of spreading any potential illness. If you are immunocompromised, it is important to disclose this information so that your therapist can wear a mask as well as provide you with one if necessary in order to keep you safe and protected.

  • Yes, we will always do our best to accommodate every client. In order to do that, it is important that you inform us of any sensitivity, allergies or restrictions in a timely manner.

  • Everyone who has ever had a massage was a first-timer at some point, so you are simply joining the club of the relaxed! In all seriousness though, the best thing you can do to receive the most out of each and every session is to communicate with your therapist. They are there to provide you with the best service possible and the more they know, the better it will be for you. If you have a question, please feel free to ask! If at any point, you would like more or less pressure, you are too hot or too cold, the music is too loud or quiet or you need to use the bathroom during your massage, just ask. It is our top priority to ensure you have the best experience possible.
